It has been referred to as the scar on the conscience of the world. The land beset by poverty, corruption, disease and armed conflict. Today Sub-Saharan Africa is the poorest region in the world. For years the richest countries have provided aid, but how effective has aid been?

Years of experience have shown that aid has provided nothing more than fuel corruption by inept and visionless leaders in Africa. Trade on the other hand opens the mass markets, encourages initiatives for self sustainability and leads to wealth creation, however little.

It is my belief that aid has led to a new era of collonization where African countries depend on the West for basics as food and water. This should not be the direction as has clearly been demonstrated by numerous researches.

Stop aid and encourage trade. This is the way to give a chance for development in Africa.
