First-Rate Track Facility for a First-Rate Team and a Deserving Community!

Our GOAL is to re-build and maintain a Track and Field facility at Brewster High School for Brewster students and our growing community. The new facility should be a safe and "complete" facility adequate for all Track and Field athletes to practice and host Track and Field Events. The new track quality should be rubberized as to minimize injuries for ALL Brewster Runners including track team members, student athletes/non-student athletes and COMMUNITY MEMBERS alike!

***This project will be funded by donations, fundraisers and business sponsorships, NOT TAX dollars.***

PLEASE TAKE THE FIRST STEP IN ACHIEVING THIS COMMUNITY GOAL BY SIGNING THE PETITION ACKNOWLEDGING YOUR SHOW OF SUPPORT, AND PASS THIS ON TO EVERYONE IN OUR COMMUNITY.

The Brewster High School Track & Field and Cross Country Teams are the most consistent, TREMENDOUSLY successful teams not only in Brewster, but in the Putnam, Westchester, and Dutchess County region. The Boys Team has won 9 of 10 LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIPS counting all 3 seasons (Cross Country, Indoor Track, and Spring Track), and this is only the beginning of an extensive list of recent awards and accomplishments.

Disheartening Fact: Although the team is extremely successful and the program continues to grow, Brewster High Track is the ONLY Team in the area that CANNOT host home meets because of inadequate and unsafe facilities. The team also loses points in certain events as they cannot practice safely at home. Carmel, Somers, Arlington, and many more schools all have beautiful Track Surfaces and Turf Fields. Even with this disadvantage the team has incredible heart, fortitude and work ethic, allowing them to get creative in practices and succeed in competition.

PRIMARY GOALS:
1. To rebuild a facility which provides the ability to provide student athletes in Track & Field to practice safely and host competitive Track Events.

2. Provide a safe Track Environment for use of multi-sport practice, non-student athletes, and community runners, joggers, and walkers. Brewster High School also hosts the annual Hudson Valley Special Olympics.

3. Utilize our new Track and Field facility as a great fundraiser. Track and Cross Country Events hosted by local area schools with complete facilities bring-in between $5,000-$8000 per event.

TARGETS:

1. Our "First Phase" monetary goal is to raise an initial $250,000. This will allow us to resurface our existing track along with surfacing our high jump area (currently just asphalt), long jump, pole vault runways. Post Phase one, Brewster High School will have the basic essential facilities necessary to host HOME events.

2. Our Ultimate Goal is to continue fundraising to complete the facility. ($ To Be Determined). Cost estimates and approval are needed for low level lighting which will enable community members to walk, jog or run safely after dark. A concession stand will assist in raising funds at HOME events. Bleachers are required for spectators and fan comfort. An additional goal is to install a turf field inside the Track Oval for our Lacrosse team as well as accommodating additional track events.

COMMUNITY MEMBERS: PLEASE SUPPORT OUR CAUSE!

***Again, this project will be funded by donations, fundraisers and business/corporate sponsorship.
